5 Ways to Use Video to Boost Your Business:

Video marketing is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your business – but did you know, there are many other use cases for video, too?

Creating videos can be costly, and unless you have video editing software and a basic set of skills, it may be helpful to pull an outside expert in to help. Thankfully, there are a ton of people out there, and websites like upwork and freelancer.com make it easy to find great talent!

There are so many ways that you can use video to your advantage, whether that’s to grow awareness for your brand, educate and audience, or simply entertain. Here, we’ll outline 5 unique ways that you can be using video to boost your business:

1) “About Us” Videos:

When you’re selling a product or service, or you’re on the hunt for new business, your potential customers will want to know more about YOU. Video can be a great way to capture your brand and tell your customers what you are all about. Skip the generic “about us” blurb, and opt for video! You’ll connect with your audience quickly, and may even entertain them in the process. The more they know about you, the more likely they are to trust you and what you have to offer – which will be key to winning their business. Try filming an introductory video in your office, and use a site like Offeo to create a high-quality introduction that’ll capture your customers’ attention.

2) Customer Testimonials:

Customers testimonials are THE perfect use case for why and how you should be using video! Ever heard of “social proof”? This phenomenon describes the way in which people will copy others and often feel more secure in a decision if it’s one that’s being made by the masses. In the same way the reviews might make you feel better about an Amazon purchase, seeing a filmed testimonial of another happy customer makes YOU want to be a happy customer, too! Ka-ching! $$$...

3) Educate You Customers:

Whether you’re bringing a brand-new product or service to market, or simply trying to beat out the competition, educating your customers on the “how and why” behind what you’re offering is KEY. There’s no better way to do this than with video! I can speak from personal experience here, and say that the reason I’m a die-hard Dyson fan is that I watched countless videos on YouTube of “Vacuum comparisons” before I made my purchase, (more hours than I’d like to admit, in fact). But hey, here I am and it was effective! Not only am I the proud owner of a Dyson now, but pretty much everyone in my phonebook is too… Have you seen a Dyson suck up a pile of spilled cheerios and glitter?? If not – YouTube.

4) Product and Service Launches:

Did you know, over 500 million people are watching videos on Facebook every day? Video is by far the most “shareable” form of content because it’s to the point, evokes emotion, and is often entertaining or educational. If you’re not already, you should absolutely be using video to announce new products and services, either for yourself or for your clients. Try throwing together a quick 1-2-minute edit to announce your exciting new offering - then watch your views and likes sky rocket on social media!

5) Use Video To Generate Revenue:

Now this one may be a little out of the box, but did you know how simple it is to generate additional revenue from your videos on YouTube? Not only can your videos be driving customers to your business, or your clients’ businesses, but they can be making some money on the side. YouTube makes this easy by overlaying advertisements, and depending on your view count & subscribers, you could be making a pretty penny!

Over here at Cloud Campaign, we’ve used video a TON, including to create a suite of on boarding videos for our awesome new customers – the Cloud Campaign Academy, and to capture the testimonials of some of our happy customers! We’d love to hear how you’ve been using video, and if you’ve seen any particular videos that stand out online, send them our way!
