It's official - Twitter announced today (Thur 11/7) that they will be moving forward with 280 character tweets for supported languages, including English.Twitter claims the decision to increase limits was in response to how languages are impacted differently by the character constraints. For instance, a Chinese character can convey much more information than a single English character.
